#5: The Manor, Los Angeles: 52,503 sq ft
The Manor was built in 1988 by entertainment royalty Aaron and Candy Spelling and is one of the grandest private residences in the world. Sitting on nearly five acres of completely flat land, the recently renovated mansion borders the LA Country Club.
The entrance itself is breathtaking, with a winding driveway leading up to a circular court that has a fountain and enough space for 100 cars. The hallway has an impressive double staircase with dramatic 30-foot ceilings giving off an old Hollywood vibe.
The grand formal living room, with Italian limestone, looks out onto the garden through arched double French Doors. It has a neutral color scheme finished off with gold accents and mahogany furniture, plus a grand piano and chandeliers, of course.
The house doesn’t go without modern luxuries, either, and has a projection room, bar, family room, library and a fully-equipped beauty salon including massage and tanning rooms.
